The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River is located at the boundary of Chongqing, Hubei and Sichuan in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. It starts from Baidi City, Fengjie County, Chongqing City in the west, ends at Nanjin Pass, Yichang City, Hubei Province in the east, crosses Fengjie and Wushan in Chongqing City, and Badong, Zigui, and Yichang in Hubei Province. The total length is 193 kilometers.

Along the way, there are steep peaks and cliffs on both sides. From west to east, there are Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge. The steep and continuous peaks are generally about 700-800 meters above the river. The narrowest part of the river is about 100 meters; with the construction of the huge Three Gorges Project, it has become a world-renowned tourist hotspot.

There are many scenic spots in the Three Gorges Tourist Area, among which the most famous is Fengdu Ghost Town, Shibaozhai in Zhongxian County, Zhangfei Temple in Yunyang, Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, Xiling Gorge, the magnificent Three Gorges Project, Daning River Small Three Gorges, etc.
