Xi'an is one of the famous historical and cultural cities in the world. Xi'an is one of the birthplaces of human civilization and the Chinese nation, with a history of more than 3,600 years. Seventeen dynasties and regimes successively established their capitals in Xi'an. It was once the political, economic and cultural center of China and the first city to open to the outside world.
The "Silk Road" started from Chang'an at that time and now Xi'an. Xi'an can be called a world-famous historical ancient capital on par with Athens, Rome, and Cairo. In 1981, UNESCO awarded Xi'an the title of "World Famous Historic City".
